The Jumbuck caught my attention more then the M-B, as well. Looks pretty cool, and it’s a nice shade of blue, to boot!

No. I see those all the time, albeit never in neon green. I was wondering what brand it was and what came after “Jumbu.” Didn’t Proton go out of business?

They didn’t, they are a Malaysian company and still sell cars in many markets, but they used to sell in the UK and Australia (not sure about Europe...?) but I think they’ve pulled out of the UK and Oz markets.

A lot of Protons were Mitsubishi and Daihatsu based and the Jumbuck was like...a ute version of a Lancer, basically, if memory serves? :D

I just vaguely remember Europpos and those pesky Australians mentioning Proton in passing and not missing it much. If that was basically a Lancer then that would be real cool to import and swap stuff around to make a high performance ute no one can identify without having to deal with almost no aftermarket. Ideas.

I’ m betting that AMG is a vinyl wrap, would definitely be cooler if its an actual custom color paint job though.

Except for a similar but absolutely thrashed coupe I used to see up by my high school, these are long gone too. Too basic and too old to be worth fixing. Same with the handful of Geo s around. I still wonder about the surly looking driver of the white four door Metro. Such a tiny little car; makes the driver look comically large in comparison.

I think they could’ve been popular before the SUV/CUV craze of the 2000's . But no matter how sensible they are, Americans want tall driving positions and 4x as much interior space than they will use 364 days of the year. If sedans are dying off, Ute’s surely would not have lasted here.

We luckily get the 15-year import law up here. Though I am still sour my particular province has no regulations on it s Motor Vehicle Act that allow me to road-register an imported Piaggio Ape yet....

I want to have one of those and a FIAT 126p....I could import the FIAT anytime once my job situation and housing/garage situation get sorted (I have the money saved already) but they are revamping the Act next year, so hopefully I could import an Ape after that! :P

We need more weird cars :D
